A Domain name is the URL of a web site or web page. It is the thing that you put in your browser, the www. whatever.com. If you purchase a domain name you are the registrar, the owner of that Domain name. You can purchase that name for as long as you want it. If you plan on creating a online business, then yes you do really need it. Now just because you want to work online doesn’t mean you have to create a business online and there are ways to make money with just a Domain name and not having to create a whole website. Now in order for a Domain Name to go live on the web you will have to have hosting services, hosting services is where your domain keeps it data, it’s files, it is the disk space that your website is made of and Both the Domain Name and Hosting Services are required in order for each to work. Usually, if your website is not ready to go on the web then you could hold off on purchasing the hosting services. The price of a domain name is pretty cheap. I pay around 10.00 for my Domain name a year of course it would be cheaper to buy it for two or three years but I like to test my Domain name to see if it’s something I can work with first. Hosting Services are about 10.00 a month and that can get a little more expensive if you look at it, as how much your spending a year but really it’s not all that expensive. This is why i say to wait on getting your web hosting until your ready to put up that website. It took me a long time to get my web site built and I thought about the waist of money because I had to wait get my web site up and this was also before I knew about making money with a Parked Website.
